Le Royal Monceau
Art direction and special photo series for the Parisian palace hotel.
The project
For Le Royal Monceau, the work focused on the art direction of special series: one shot in the hotel cinema for Fashion Week, then a series devoted to the private apartments.
The approach
Each series starts from a place in the hotel and stages it. The Philippe Starck interiors act as a set: the mirrors, the staircase and the cinema become part of the image.
The cinema
For Fashion Week, a special series was shot in the cinema designed by Philippe Starck. The models, in silk pyjamas and sunglasses, settle into the seats, on the floor and on the staircase, champagne and popcorn in hand.
The private apartments
A second series highlights the hotel’s private apartments. The framing stays frontal and symmetrical, letting the mirrors, light and volumes speak.
